Focus on my work

How my studio work and commissioned work has developed over the years

Looking back at my earlier designs, I would say that they were about geometry, aesthetic precision and balance. My aesthetic judgement during that period was greatly influenced by my training and choice of workshop techniques. I found that hand raising sheet metal was a productive and fulfilling method of expressing my aesthetic values.

In recent years the visual language of my work has undergone an organic change. My work in this phase of my career has been motivated by my ongoing appreciation of nature. I have found myself drawing from what I find in the natural world and expressing that vision in objects so that people can enjoy them and form their own connections with nature.
